Kallisto Kastanitsa

Premium Guest House in Kastanitsa Arkadia

Enjoy unique moments of relaxation and harmony in the green landscape of the beautiful preserved settlement of Kastanitsa in eastern Parnonas and discover the authentic experience of a forgotten Greece!

The stone-built Kallisto Kastanitsa, built traditionally but with all modern comforts and luxury, is located in a privileged position on a hill with a magnificent view of the entrance to the village. The visitors, from the window of each room, will rest their gaze on the slopes of the wooded mountains that descend to the Myrtle Sea; they will enjoy a panoramic view of the village with its stone houses with slate roofs and flowery courtyards, with old tower houses and with its castle. They will be awakened by the chirping of the blackbird outside their window or by the cry of the hawk perched on the opposite mountaintop; they will smell the intoxicating aromas of the rare herbs and wildflowers that thrive in the area.

Unforgettable experiences await in the forests of Parnon

Kallisto Kastanitsa is the ideal starting point for nature lovers and hikers, as wandering the surrounding forest roads and hiking the mapped and unmapped paths of Parnon is an unforgettable experience. Crossing through these forests they will encounter canyons, waterfalls, chapels, springs, ruined lime kilns and will get to know the unique beauty of the sacred mountain of Arcades, the rest of its traditional settlements and a multitude of amazing, although unknown to many, archaeological, historical and cultural treasures. Kallisto Kastanitsa, which is located 30' from the crystal beaches of the eastern Peloponnese, is the best choice for sea lovers who want to avoid the unbearable heat and the tiresome crowding of the coastal zone.
The history of the Kallisto Kastanitsa
The Kallisto Kastanitsa is the first step in the vision of Panagiotis Alivanoglou for the promotion of Kastanitsa and the surrounding area as a destination for mild, ecological and cultural tourism. With an origin by his mother from Kastanitsa himself, the grandson of "Gritsos", as was his grandfather's nickname, grew up in Athens flooded with memories of childhood trips to the village, with games and explorations in the forest, with the serpentine Tsakonian dance at festivals, with the stories of the grandparents in an unknown but charming local dialect.
