In Agios Giannis Square and in the building that until 1992 housed the Primary School, from 1870, the Kastanitsa Information Center was established in 2008 with funding from special European Programs.
The building was completely renovated, the necessary infrastructure was added and in two rooms on the ground floor an important exhibition was created with photographic images and a presentation of texts about the important and unique flora and fauna of Parnonas, about the architectural peculiarity of Kastanitsa and the surrounding villages of Parnonas, about the paths and gorges of the area, about the unique chestnut forest that embraces Kastanitsa and about Parnonas, the beautiful mountain that stretches from the Argolic to Monemvasia. A very important creation, which is open to the public since the Parnon Ecological Park Authority, which is responsible for its operation, has staffed it with a tour guide. Also, the Agency's cooperation with the active Association of the People of Kastanitsa has resulted in the creation of a Diachronic Historical Exhibition for Kastanitsa and its people in the third room of the Ground Floor, while a Folklore Museum of traditional professions operates in the basement.
