Parnonas is a beautiful mountain with many peaks, most of which are over 1,500 meters. Its highest peak is Megali Tourla, which reaches an altitude of 1,936 meters. It is approximately 25 kilometers from Kastanitsa and the road is paved for 18 km, while the remaining 6-7 are dirt forest roads with moderate passability for small vehicles.
Whatever one writes about the Prophet Elias Plateau and the peak of Megali Tourla will be little. There are no words that can describe and convey this immense beauty. Every year, hundreds of hikers start from every point to reach the top and enjoy the vast horizon that stretches from the Argolic Mountains to the Laconian Plain and beyond to the slopes of Mainalos.
